I was tasked to maintain and further improve existing websites, fighting off technical debt as well as handling new projects, making sure it meets the design requirements and has a solid foundation.
The biggest challenge whilst working here is the constant fight against CSS bloat, the workload never had time for it so maintenance and updates usually went hand-in-hand.
The other challenge is having to mimic web designs for new pages not included in the initial blueprints, for this I had to rely on my creative skills and attention to detail to deliver the same quality as the design provided. Whilst I initially didn't like this part, I grew to enjoy it.
Apart from work, I've also contributed to the open source community by creating a package that handled typing polymorphic components in react, whilst other packages already solved this, mine improves on it by making typescript's intellisense much faster, the package's name is react-polymorphed and is available on NPM.
Some other notable projects I've created was a radial-gradient background generator, a local kanban board, and a pomodoro timer, all of which I personally use.
